RoboCar Guide is an independent explainer for people who want to ride in, or buy, a car that does some or all of the driving. We aren’t affiliated with Waymo, Tesla, Zoox, GM, Ford or Mercedes-Benz.

We focus on two questions buyers actually have: “Can I use this where I live?” and “What will it cost after the trial?” We answer both from the operators’ own pages.

How we research

Every spec, price and availability claim on this site links to its source, usually the manufacturer’s own product page or store, an operator’s help center, or a regulator. When a company hasn’t published a price, a ship date or a spec, we say so instead of estimating. We note the date we last checked.
